FAQ
Q: How do you apply the 'speed of sound setting' to the Sonarmite readings? Is it a setting within the sonarmite or can the recorded data be adjusted with reference to the tables in the manual?
A: You can use either the Sonarmite Android App on your phone /tablet and connect to the unit using Bluetooth, or use a PC with WCOM 32 terminal software and the supplied serial cable.
Once connected to the unit, use the CTRL+F keys to change the output format to SYSTEM format. Once in SYSTEM, you will see the sound velocity around 1500. You can then use the CTRL+I or CTRL+D keys to increase or decrease the SV value as needed. Once set, use the CTRL+S keys to save your settings.
You can now change the format back to your required output.
Q: My HyDrone is beeping and/or my throttle is uneven and/or I don't have reverse; what do I do?
A: Slowly beeping (about once a second)
-
The slow beep of the ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) means it is not receiving signal.
-
An unpaired or damaged receiver can cause this, or a connection break of the red, white, and black wire set.

A: Rapidly beeping
-
If it is a rapid beep, the ESC is warning you that the remote control's throttle stick is not centered.
-
If the throttle stick is centered and you are still having this issue, see the steps below:

A: My throttle is uneven / it won't reverse
-
Start with the remote control on (for ASV Hydrones, the Autonav has to be on and armed)
-
Ensure all trims are set to zero using the four trim tabs located on the remote
For RCV
-
Move the Left stick full forward.
-
Turn the left pontoon on.
-
After two beeps, move the stick back down to center.
-
The ESC will emit a series of tones indicating the new center has been set.
-
Repeat this process on the right side.
-
If the calibration is not centered, this can be repeated as many times as needed.
For ASV
-
Move the right stick fully forward.
-
Turn the left pontoon on.
-
After two beeps, move the stick back down to center.
-
The ESC will emit a series of tones indicating the new center has been set.
-
Repeat this process on the right pontoon still using the right stick.
-
If the calibration is not centered, this can be repeated as many times as needed.
*If you have performed the throttle calibration steps above and still don't have reverse, The ESC will need to be programmed. It is recommended to call in and ask for assistance.
Q: How do I configure GPS rovers to work with the AutoNav?
